Since Emmanuel Maurin took over the reins of Santa Fe in 2008, it has become one of the best restaurants in St Barth, located just a few minutes from Gustavia. Open for lunch and dinner, Santa Fe offers refined cuisine greatly appreciated by a discerning clientele.
Background
Born in Grasse, a small village on the Cote d’Azur inland from Nice, Emmanuel Maurin has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business. After earning his diploma at a cooking school in Nice, he decided to be an ambassador of French culinary arts in the world-at-large. Working for acclaimed chef Roger Vergé at the Moulin de Mougins, as director of the four-star restaurant at the Sydney Opera House, and as chef at La Crémaillère in Greenwich, Connecticut, has allowed him to share his passion for French cuisine with a Mediterranean accent.
When he moved to St Barth in 2000, Emmanuel first served as the sommelier at Sapotillier before taking over Santa Fe in 2008, bringing a new culinary ambiance to the only restaurant in the neighborhood of Lurin/Gouverneur.
- The only restaurant in Gouverneur with a panoramic view of neighboring islands
- A large tank from which you can choose your own live lobster
- Personalized service and delicious cuisine
Emmanuel works with a truly professional staff, in order to provide one of the most varied menus on the island, for both lunch and dinner, blending local products with traditional French cuisine.
Combining a relaxed atmosphere with high-quality cuisine, Santa Fe offers a full lunch menu with a variety of salads, main courses, burgers, and sandwiches, as well as mahi-mahi brochettes, fresh lobster, grilled meat, Provencal style lamp chops, BBQ ribs, or filet of beef with béarnaise or pepper sauce. For a perfect dinner, Emmanuel might suggest lobster thermidor, Wahoo with ginger and coriander, stuffed calamari, duo of duck with orange sauce, or the traditional “coq au vin.” Appreciative diners can also enjoy regional French specialties such as veal ragout, sweetbreads, beef bourguignon, breast of pigeon with foie gras sauce, Dover sole or a veal chop with Morel mushrooms. As they say in France…bon appétit!
