Extremely popular in St Barts, this restaurant is known for good food at reasonable prices, as well as an interesting selection tapas and cocktails. Open from 8am to 1am, with non-stop service seven days a week, Le Piment has a variety of menus for different meals throughout the day: breakfast from 9am-11am; lunch from 11am-6pm; and dinner after 7pm. An informal ambiance and good choice of background music add to the large choice of tapas (grilled calamari or clams with parsley, sausage plate, camembert, pepper and chorizo quesadillas, bruschetta with Parma ham, gorgonzola and walnuts…), perfect to nibble with cocktails from 6pm-9pm.
The dining section and bar are two distinct areas set on a large covered deck, where locals create a lively scene at all hours of the day. In addition to the printed menu, daily specials include a variety of salads, and both cooked and raw fish and meat. Options range from wahoo tataki with two sesames, tuna tartar, beef carpaccio with pesto sauce and parmesan served with a green salad, or beef tartar with fries and to a traditional steak with the sauce of your choice, fries and salad, or a 12oz Angus beef filet for 24 euros. The chef changes the specials every week, all reasonably priced from 12 to 22 euros. To finish the meal with something sweet, try the Nutella mousse, a caramel or chocolate sundae, Tart Tatin with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or pannacotta with raspberry sauce, all priced between 6 and 8 euros.
A snack menu is available all afternoon and features a variety of lovely salads, grilled steak, the best paninis on the the island, clubs sandwiches, French fries and a choice of burgers at 13 euros.
The secret of our success? The best quality food possible, from Angus beef to burgers, all served in a very hip atmosphere!
