La Banane St Barts

The hotel La Banane is an institution in St Barts, a hideaway nestled amidst a coconut grove. To begin a fresh chapter in its history, its new owners decided to break away from the traditional styles adopted by luxury hotels and define a new experience. They have combined their passion for collecting and interior design, paying tribute to the great names of modernism. In each room unusual works by Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand, Serge Mouille, Jean Royère, and Juliette Derel form the highlights of an ever-changing tapestry.

Former owner Jean-Marie Riviere, founder of L’Alcazar and Le Paradis Latin in Paris, produced a revue here at La Banane. He also created a small island in the middle of the pool which became a symbol of the surroundings, as well as a focus for the influence of Parisian nightlife animating St Barts. "La Banane," Jean-Marie Rivière’s famous cabaret, was performed there and, like a lingering smile, left its name to the site.

La Banane is a true art homestead. The art pieces blend perfectly with the tropical surroundings.
